About this sound

A short clip of Donald Trump saying "China," widely used as a meme reaction in edits, political jokes and ironic punchlines online.

This sound is the brief, instantly recognisable clip of Donald Trump saying “China” with the exaggerated emphasis that became a meme online. At under a second long, it lands like a verbal sting and works best as a sharp reaction or punchline. The delivery is clipped, nasal and emphatic, which makes it funny even without context. Viewers usually read it as a joke about overblown political commentary, awkward emphasis or any moment where a creator wants to underline something in a ridiculous, unmistakable way.

This meme sound comes from clips of Donald Trump saying “China” during public speeches and campaign appearances, which were repeatedly isolated and reposted online. Short edits and compilations helped turn the pronunciation into a standalone reaction sound, especially in meme videos and political parody content. Its popularity lasted because the clip is so brief and instantly readable, making it easy to drop into fast-paced edits. It is still used when creators want a blunt, recognizable one-word punchline.
