About this sound

Looks Like It's Sweeping Time is Gotta Sweep's line from Baldi's Basics, used in gaming memes and edits when a broom suddenly clears the scene.

This clip features Gotta Sweep declaring, “Looks like it’s sweeping time,” in Baldi’s Basics. The short line is delivered in the game’s deliberately rough, cartoonish voice style, making an ordinary cleaning announcement sound strangely intense. Because Gotta Sweep can abruptly push characters through the school, the quote carries a sense of chaotic momentum rather than calm housekeeping. In videos, it creates a funny warning that something is about to be cleared away, rushed offscreen, or swept into disorder. Its recognizable delivery also works as a quick reference for fans of the game.

The quote comes from Gotta Sweep, the living broom character in the 2018 indie horror parody game Baldi’s Basics in Education and Learning. Created by Micah McGonigal, the game uses intentionally crude educational-game visuals and unpredictable schoolhouse characters. Gotta Sweep patrols a closet and periodically rushes through the halls, pushing the player and other characters along its path. Gameplay videos helped make the character’s announcement recognizable beyond the game itself. The line remains useful in memes because it clearly signals sudden movement, forced removal, and absurd cleaning chaos.
