About this sound

Short clip of the Persona 5 lyric "you'll never see it coming," used in gaming edits, bait-and-switch memes and dramatic reveal posts.

This sound is a short excerpt of the Persona 5 vocal line "you'll never see it coming," delivered with a slick, confident pop-rock feel. Even in a brief clip, it instantly signals a twist, ambush or outsmarting moment. The lyric lands right before or during a reveal, so it works especially well when a video sets up one outcome and then sharply cuts to another. Viewers recognize it as a stylish cue for surprise, reversal and main-character energy, which is why it keeps showing up in gaming montages and meme edits.

This audio comes from Persona 5, the 2016 role-playing game by Atlus, where the lyric appears in the battle theme "Last Surprise." Online, the line escaped the game and became a recognizable reaction sound for surprise reveals, fake-outs and sudden reversals. It spread through gaming videos, anime-style edits and short meme clips because the phrase itself explains the joke while the music gives the moment extra style. Its staying power comes from being instantly recognizable to players without needing a long setup.
