About this sound

A short lyrical excerpt from Unravel, TK's opening theme for Tokyo Ghoul. Creators use its intense vocals for anime edits, reveals, and dramatic scenes.

This clip captures a brief lyrical section of Unravel, the emotionally charged opening theme associated with the Tokyo Ghoul anime. TK’s high, expressive singing gives the excerpt a tense and vulnerable quality, while the driving rock arrangement adds urgency beneath the vocals. Even in a short edit, the song can make a scene feel tragic, conflicted, or suddenly intense. Its recognizable melody also creates an immediate connection to anime culture, especially for viewers familiar with Ken Kaneki’s transformation and the series’ darker emotional themes.

Unravel was written and performed by TK from Ling Tosite Sigure and released in 2014. It became widely known as the opening theme for the first season of the Tokyo Ghoul anime, closely linking the song with protagonist Ken Kaneki. Fan edits, covers, lyric videos, and anime compilations helped it spread far beyond the series. Alongside recognizable anime clips such as Nico Nico Nii, it remains popular in online edits because its soaring vocals and sharp dynamic changes communicate emotional tension almost instantly.
