This sound is the instantly recognisable “oshiete, oshiete yo” vocal line from the Tokyo Ghoul opening theme Unravel. It starts softly, with an emotional anime vocal delivery that feels tense, vulnerable and dramatic at the same time. Even in a short clip, it creates a strong sense of mystery and inner turmoil, which is why people use it when a scene suddenly turns serious or emotionally heavy. Viewers usually connect it with anime heartbreak, dark character edits and those moments where a joke gives way to something unexpectedly intense.

“Oshiete, oshiete yo” comes from Unravel, the opening theme of the anime Tokyo Ghoul, performed by TK from Ling tosite sigure in 2014. That short lyric became one of the most quoted parts of the song because the vocal delivery is so distinctive and emotional. Over time, the clip spread through anime fandom, AMVs, short-form edits and meme videos.
