About this sound

This short clip is the famous “Nico Nico Nii” catchphrase delivered in a bright, sugary idol voice by Nico Yazawa from Love Live! It has a playful, chirpy rhythm that instantly reads as anime-cute, a little smug, and very recognizable to fans. Because the line is so short and punchy, it works well as a reaction sound for ironic sweetness, overconfident introductions, or sudden mood shifts into full kawaii energy. Even people who do not know the series often recognize it as a classic anime meme sound.

“Nico Nico Nii” comes from the anime and idol franchise Love Live! School Idol Project, where the character Nico Yazawa uses it as a signature introduction. The line spread widely through anime fandom, reposted clips, and reaction edits on video platforms and social media.
