About this sound

The infamous most annoying sound in the world gag from Dumb and Dumber, used in memes, edits and prank clips to make awkward moments instantly worse.

This clip is the over-the-top nasal screech Harry makes in the car in Dumb and Dumber when he says he wants to hear the most annoying sound in the world. It is loud, drawn out and deliberately irritating, with a goofy cartoon quality that makes the scene memorable instead of genuinely harsh. In edits, the sound lands as a mix of second-hand embarrassment and chaos, turning a normal reaction shot or pause into an intentionally unbearable joke that viewers recognize right away.

This sound comes from the 1994 comedy film Dumb and Dumber, during the car scene where Harry, played by Jeff Daniels, performs the gag after asking Lloyd if he wants to hear the most annoying sound in the world. The moment became one of the movie's most quoted audio bits and spread widely through soundboards, prank compilations and short meme edits. It still gets used because the delivery is instantly recognizable and perfectly sells cringe, irritation and absurd comedy in just a few seconds.
