About this sound

This famous song parody clip from early YouTube went viral long before TikTok, later resurfacing in short-form edits for calling out lies and fake behavior humor.

This sound is the famous sung line, "Why you always lying," delivered in an exaggerated, teasing voice. It has a playful R&B parody feel, so it lands somewhere between a callout and a punchline instead of sounding truly angry. Creators use it when someone in a clip is clearly making things up, overpromising, or getting exposed. The short vocal hook instantly tells viewers that the moment is dishonest, suspicious, or fake, which makes it ideal for reaction videos, receipts-style edits, and meme compilations built around awkward lies.

'Why You Always Lying' comes from a 2015 viral comedy song by Nicholas Fraser, also known online as Downtown. The clip spread widely through Vine, YouTube reposts, and meme pages because the drawn-out vocal delivery made dishonesty sound instantly ridiculous. It stayed popular in short edits and reaction posts as a quick way to flag a lie without needing extra explanation. The meme sits alongside simple reaction sounds like bruh and buzzer that creators use to underline a moment fast.
