About this sound

The classic "I'm tired of this, Grandpa" and "Well that's too damn bad" exchange from Holes, used in memes and reaction edits for blunt shutdowns.

This clip captures the sharp back-and-forth from Holes where Stanley says, "I'm tired of this, Grandpa," and gets the instantly quotable reply, "Well, that's too damn bad." The delivery makes the moment memorable: one voice sounds exhausted and fed up, while the answer lands with total indifference. In edits and memes, it works as a harsh reaction sound for situations where someone complains, gives up, or asks for sympathy and gets none. The short pause between the two lines gives creators a clean setup and punchline in one clip.

This sound comes from the 2003 film Holes, in a scene between Stanley Yelnats and Mr. Sir. The exchange became widely shared online as a reaction quote, especially in GIFs, short video edits, and caption memes. People use it because the setup and response are instantly clear: one person is done, and the other does not care at all. Its staying power comes from that perfect contrast, which makes it easy to reuse in everyday frustration jokes and blunt comeback posts.
