About this sound

CJ's "Ah shit, here we go again" quote from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, used in memes to mark a bad situation repeating itself.

This clip is CJ's deadpan line "Ah shit, here we go again" delivered at the start of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The short pause before the words land gives it a resigned, almost exhausted tone, like someone already knows the next problem will be a mess. In edits and reaction posts, it works as an instant setup for failure, drama, or an annoying routine starting over. Because the voice is calm rather than loud, the joke usually feels more relatable than shocking, which is why the sound hits so well in everyday meme situations.

The line comes from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and is spoken by protagonist Carl "CJ" Johnson during the game's opening. Online, the quote became a durable reaction meme because it neatly sums up the feeling of facing the same trouble again. It spread across YouTube edits, gaming memes, and short-form videos, often paired with captions about daily frustration or recurring disasters. A closely related upload is the alternate phrasing aw shit here go again, which people also search for when looking for this meme sound.
