About this sound

Rhonin’s Citizens of Dalaran announcement from World of Warcraft, used in gaming edits to introduce a grand reveal or a mock-serious declaration.

This short voice clip captures Rhonin addressing the people with the commanding phrase “Citizens of Dalaran,” followed in the original speech by an instruction to look toward the sky. His forceful, theatrical delivery immediately demands attention, giving the audio the scale of a public proclamation. Creators often use the fragment before an impressive reveal, an absurd discovery, or an intentionally overdramatic announcement. Its contrast with ordinary footage can make a minor event feel like urgent news affecting an entire fantasy city, especially for viewers familiar with World of Warcraft.

The line comes from World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, the 2008 expansion that brought Dalaran to Northrend as a major player hub. Rhonin, leader of the Kirin Tor, delivers the wider city announcement associated with the defeat of Algalon the Observer in Ulduar. Because the speech could be heard across Dalaran, many players encountered its commanding opening repeatedly. The phrase remained recognizable through gameplay videos, raid references, remixes, and memes that turn everyday announcements into grand fantasy proclamations.
