About this sound

The classic 20th Century Fox fanfare by Alfred Newman, heard in the studio intro and used in edits for dramatic openings or movie-style jokes.

This sound is the famous 20th Century Fox fanfare, a bold orchestral intro associated with the studio logo. It opens with bright brass, rolling percussion and a triumphant melody that instantly feels cinematic and official. Even in a short clip, it creates the sense that something huge or important is about to begin. Creators use it to frame ordinary moments like blockbuster events, add nostalgic movie-theater energy, or set up a punchline by treating a simple reveal as if it were the start of a major film.

The 20th Century Fox fanfare is the signature studio theme composed by Alfred Newman for the film company’s logo. It became widely recognized through decades of movie openings and was later reused in countless edits, parodies and intro memes online. People instantly connect it with the idea of a big-screen presentation, which is why it still works so well for dramatic fake openings. In internet culture, it often fills the same role as the Windows XP - Startup Sound: a short audio cue that signals a familiar beginning.
