About this sound

The viral Why You Always Lying meme song clip, used to call out obvious lies in reaction videos, memes and awkward truth-reveal edits.

This sound is the famous mocking line and melody from the Why You Always Lying meme, where a singer stretches out the accusation in a playful, dramatic way. The clip has a light R&B parody feel, then lands as a sharp punchline when someone is clearly making things up. It works because the delivery sounds half-singing, half-calling someone out, so viewers instantly get the joke. In edits, it adds embarrassment, exposes fake stories and turns a suspicious moment into a memorable comedic reveal.

Why You Always Lying became a widely shared internet meme in 2015 after Nicholas Fraser posted the short musical sketch online. The clip spread fast across Vine, YouTube, Twitter and later TikTok because its sing-song callout fits almost any moment where someone is obviously dishonest. It stuck around for years thanks to remix culture, reaction edits and its easy setup-and-payoff structure. Creators often pair it with freeze frames, awkward pauses or even the Directed by Robert B Weide style ending for extra comedy.
