About this sound

The famous sax riff from Moldova's Eurovision 2010 performance, used in memes, reaction edits and absurdly triumphant punchlines.

This clip features the instantly recognisable sax break associated with Epic Sax Guy, with a bright, punchy melody that sounds both catchy and over-the-top. It has a bold, celebratory feel that can turn even a mundane moment into something dramatic or hilariously glorious. Because the riff arrives with so much confidence and energy, it works especially well as a punchline after a reveal, a weird flex, or a perfectly timed visual payoff. Even a short cut of it can make a scene feel knowingly ridiculous in the best way.

Epic Sax Guy comes from the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest performance of "Run Away" by Moldovan group SunStroke Project and Olia Tira. The meme centers on saxophonist Sergey Stepanov, whose dance and sax break were clipped, looped, and widely shared online. Over time, the short instrumental section became a go-to reaction sound for ironic victory, swagger, and exaggerated coolness. It still shows up in meme edits because the riff is instantly recognisable and lands fast without needing setup.
