About this sound

A short losing jingle credited to Grant Kirkhope, used as a quick fail sound in gaming clips, challenge edits, and posts where someone takes an obvious loss.

This clip is a very short game-style losing cue: a compact musical sting that immediately signals failure, defeat, or an attempt gone wrong. It has the polished feel of a classic video game results jingle, ending fast enough to work as a punchline without interrupting the flow of a clip. Creators use it when a challenge falls apart, a player makes a bad decision, or a confident setup ends in an instant loss. The sound lands best because viewers understand the joke the moment the sting plays.

This sound is commonly treated online as a classic video game lose cue, and the file metadata credits Grant Kirkhope. Because it is only a brief results-style sting, creators often use it outside its original context in gaming montages, challenge compilations, and meme edits. Its appeal comes from how quickly it communicates defeat without needing dialogue or setup. That makes it a reliable reaction sound for short-form videos where a single musical cue has to sell the joke immediately.
