About this sound

The Wraith bell and cloaking sound from Dead by Daylight, used in game edits, stealth memes and clips about a sudden killer approach.

This clip features The Wraith’s signature bell ring and cloaking audio from Dead by Daylight. It has a metallic chime followed by the eerie, warping sound tied to his vanish ability, instantly signaling that a stealth killer is nearby. Even as a short sound, it creates tension and makes viewers expect a jump scare, chase or ambush. Creators use it when something appears out of nowhere, when a quiet moment turns threatening, or when they want a gaming reference that horror players recognize immediately.

This sound comes from Dead by Daylight and is associated with The Wraith, one of the game’s original killers. Players know it as the audio cue for his Wailing Bell and cloak ability, which warns that he is shifting in or out of invisibility. Because Dead by Daylight became a long-running multiplayer horror game with a strong clip culture, the sound spread into montages, memes and reaction edits. It still gets used because the bell is instantly recognizable to DBD players and clearly signals danger.
