About this sound

A sharp zombie scream from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Zombies, used in memes, edits and gaming clips to signal panic, jump scares or sudden chaos.

This clip is a brief zombie yell associated with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Zombies. It has a harsh, raspy shriek that rises fast and cuts through a mix, making it instantly feel like danger is right on top of you. Because the sound is short and intense, creators use it to punctuate surprise reveals, failed plays and horror moments. Even outside gaming edits, it works as a quick audio cue for panic, aggression or the exact second a calm scene turns chaotic.

This sound is commonly recognized by players as a zombie vocal from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the 2012 game that kept the series' Zombies mode highly visible online. Short enemy noises from BO2 spread through YouTube montages, Twitch clips and meme edits because they communicate danger in a fraction of a second. The yell still gets reused in gaming content thanks to nostalgia for BO2 and because its sharp delivery fits modern reaction editing just as well as a generic scream meme.
