About this sound

The Call of Duty Zombies round intro sound, used to open gameplay edits, wave start memes and clips that need a tense undead match beginning.

This sound is the short intro cue associated with the start of a Zombies round in Call of Duty. It has the unmistakable game-menu polish of a wave beginning: a dramatic stinger, tense pacing and that familiar feeling that danger is about to ramp up. In edits, it instantly tells viewers that a challenge is starting, a new phase has kicked in or chaos is about to unfold. Because it is brief and recognizable to players, it works well as a setup sound before a fail, clutch moment or sudden swarm.

This clip is associated with the Zombies mode from Call of Duty, a game mode that became especially popular through Treyarch entries and years of online gameplay videos. Short round-start sounds like this spread through YouTube edits, TikTok gaming posts and meme compilations because they quickly signal escalation. Even outside COD content, creators use the cue as a shorthand for a new level of pressure, survival or incoming chaos. Its staying power comes from how instantly recognizable it feels to players who grew up with Zombies matches.
