About this sound

Ah shit, here we go again is CJ's line from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, used in memes when a familiar problem or tiresome cycle starts once more.

This short voice clip captures CJ saying the now-famous phrase in a weary, resigned tone. The delivery is calm rather than explosive, which makes the profanity feel like reluctant acceptance instead of surprise. Its compact rhythm lands immediately, giving viewers a clear signal that an annoying situation has returned. Editors often use it after a repeated mistake, an unwanted update, a recurring argument, or the start of another difficult task. The familiar wording adds humor by turning frustration into a shared, predictable reaction.

The quote comes from the 2004 video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Early in the story, Carl “CJ” Johnson is left in hostile territory and reacts with the line before getting on a bicycle. Short video edits later detached the moment from its original scene, using CJ’s reaction as shorthand for repeated trouble. Its concise wording, recognizable delivery, and easy setup helped it remain a durable reaction meme, often appearing in gaming clips and failure compilations alongside formats such as Directed by Robert B Weide.
