About this sound

The famous Trololo vocal meme by Eduard Khil, a cheerful wordless song clip used in ironic edits, old internet throwbacks and goofy reaction videos.

This sound is the classic Trololo clip: a bright, bouncy male vocal melody full of rolling “lo lo lo” syllables instead of real lyrics. It has a playful, slightly absurd tone that feels instantly recognizable to anyone who remembers early meme culture. The sound lands as cheerful and unserious, which makes it perfect for turning a normal moment into something intentionally goofy. Because it is so upbeat and oddly formal at the same time, it works well when a creator wants a joke to feel both nostalgic and ridiculous.

Trololo comes from a 1976 performance by Soviet singer Eduard Khil of the vocal piece often identified as “I Am Glad, 'Cause I'm Finally Returning Back Home.” The clip spread widely online in 2009 after being rediscovered on YouTube, where its unusual wordless delivery made it easy to remix and share. It became one of the defining early internet music memes, alongside clips like the French meme song, and it still appears in retro meme edits because the melody is instantly recognizable.
