Slowed tendril sound effect from Prototype, featuring Alex Mercer's fleshy shapeshifting attack stretched into a deep, wet rumble for edits and memes.

This is a slowed version of the tendril attack sounds from Prototype, where Alex Mercer's body stretches into dark, fleshy whips. Slowing the clip stretches the wet snaps, tearing textures and low whooshes into a longer, heavier groan that feels almost organic and unsettling. Instead of a quick combat hit, it lingers, letting every squelch and strain build tension. Listeners hear it as something alive pulling and twisting, which makes short gameplay clips, horror edits and transformation scenes feel more physical, gross and dramatic than the original speed.

Prototype is an open world action game released in 2009 by Radical Entertainment, starring Alex Mercer, a shapeshifter whose powers include blades, claws and tendril attacks. Clips of its raw combat audio have circulated for years on soundboards and in fan edits, with slowed versions becoming popular for exaggerating texture and weight. The tendril sounds remain recognisable to players because they were tied to Mercer's most distinctive powers, and creators still reuse them for body horror, superpower and monster effects outside the game.

What is the Prototype tendril slowed sound?

It is a slowed down clip of the tendril attack effects from Prototype, the 2009 action game. Slowing stretches the wet snaps and whooshes from Alex Mercer's shapeshifting powers into a deeper, longer rumble used in edits.

Who makes the tendril sounds in Prototype?

The sounds belong to Alex Mercer, the protagonist of Prototype, whose body can reshape into weapons. His tendril attacks whip out as fleshy extensions, and the game layers tearing and impact effects over those movements in combat.

How do creators use the slowed version?

Creators place it under transformation, monster and superpower scenes where something stretches or tears on screen. The slower speed adds weight and tension, so it works best at the start of a movement and over the following impact.
