About this sound

A short viral cockatoo clip that sounds like it says "WTF" or "watafak." People use it as a shocked reaction sound in memes, edits and funny pet videos.

This clip is a quick, punchy parrot reaction sound, usually identified as a cockatoo blurting something that listeners hear as "WTF" or "watafak." The delivery is abrupt, raspy and oddly human, which makes it instantly funny and a little chaotic. Because it is so short, it lands like a perfect reaction beat when something ridiculous, confusing or wildly unexpected happens on screen. Viewers get the joke immediately, whether it is used on a fail, a plot twist, or a pet doing something completely unhinged.

This sound is known online as the WTF Parrot or cockatoo WTF clip, a short animal reaction audio that spread through meme edits and reposted pet videos. The exact original upload is not always credited consistently, but the sound became popular because the bird's squawk resembles human speech closely enough to read as "WTF" or "watafak." Its staying power comes from how fast it communicates confusion and disbelief, especially in short-form video where a two-second reaction beat can carry the joke.
