About this sound

A short guitar cover of Where Is My Mind by Pixies, capturing its recognizable melody for reflective edits, dramatic reveals, and surreal meme videos.

This sound is a brief guitar cover of the Pixies song Where Is My Mind. The clip focuses on the track’s recognizable melodic character in a compact instrumental performance lasting about fifteen seconds. Its reflective, slightly uncanny mood can make an ordinary scene feel dreamlike or emotionally distant. Creators often use it to underline a sudden realization, a quiet personal moment, or footage that shifts from normal to surreal. Because the excerpt is short, it works well as a transition cue without overtaking the accompanying visuals.

Where Is My Mind was written by Pixies frontman Black Francis and appeared on the band’s 1988 album Surfer Rosa. The song later reached wider audiences through its use in the 1999 film Fight Club, especially its memorable final scene. Its distinctive melody and dreamlike atmosphere have since inspired many acoustic, electric guitar, piano, and vocal covers online. Short cover excerpts remain popular in edits because listeners quickly recognize the composition, while each performance can give familiar footage a more personal or intimate tone.
