About this sound

The famous yodel from The Price Is Right Cliff Hangers game, used in memes and edits when something slowly goes wrong or keeps climbing.

This clip is the classic yodeling tune heard during the Cliff Hangers pricing game on The Price Is Right. It has a bright, bouncy alpine feel, with a playful yodel that quickly signals suspense mixed with comedy. Online, people use it when a score, cost, mistake, or awkward moment keeps rising one step at a time. The sound works because it turns a simple build-up into a recognizable punchline, making viewers expect an inevitable crash, reveal, or loss the longer the yodel continues.

This sound comes from the Cliff Hangers segment on the long-running TV game show The Price Is Right, where a yodeling cue plays as the mountain climber moves upward. Over time, that short musical moment escaped the show and became a reaction sound in online edits and memes. Creators use it because the pacing instantly communicates mounting tension with a comic payoff. It is still popular whenever a number, risk, or embarrassing situation keeps increasing in a very visible way.
