About this sound

A short comedic fart sound often labeled prout, a common French term for a toot. People use it for punchlines, fails and childish joke edits.

This clip is a quick, cartoonish fart sound usually tagged as prout, the playful French word for a fart noise. It has a short burst, a silly tone and an instantly unserious feel that makes any moment seem more awkward or childish. Creators drop it right after a mistake, an embarrassing pause or a visual gag to underline the joke without needing dialogue. Because it is brief and obvious, it works well in memes, prank buttons and reaction edits where the laugh comes from blunt timing.

The title prout uses a very common French onomatopoeia for a fart sound, so this clip is best understood as a general comedy effect rather than a traceable quote from a specific film or show. Sounds like this spread widely through soundboards, prank apps, message chats and short meme edits because they are instantly recognizable and easy to time. It stays popular because the joke is simple, universal and works across languages, especially in quick reaction videos and low-stakes comedy posts.
