About this sound

The loud Wazzup yell from Scary Movie, used in meme edits, parody horror clips and throwback skits when people want a goofy, over-the-top greeting.

This sound is the exaggerated Wazzup shout made famous by Scary Movie, delivered with a stretched, nasal yell that instantly turns a normal hello into something absurd. It has a playful, chaotic tone that feels both goofy and a little unhinged, which is why it lands so well in comedy edits. People use it to interrupt quiet moments, mock overdramatic reactions or add early-2000s parody energy to horror jokes. Even as a short clip, it gives scenes a sudden burst of loud, recognizable personality.

This clip is associated with Scary Movie, the 2000 horror parody that spoofed slashers like Scream and leaned into the already popular Wazzup catchphrase. The movie's phone scene became a memorable joke because it mixed horror tension with a ridiculously drawn-out greeting. Online, the sound spread through meme edits, reaction videos and nostalgic reposts, especially in clips that parody scary phone calls or overexcited greetings. It still gets used because the delivery is instantly recognizable and easy to drop into comedic interruptions.
