About this sound

The viral 'Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no' clip from TikTok, used in fail videos, looming disaster edits and moments when everything is about to go wrong.

This sound is the familiar rising vocal clip that goes, “Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no,” usually timed right before a mistake, reveal or disaster lands. It starts playful and instantly creates a sense of dread, which is why it works so well in short comedy edits. Creators use it to signal that something bad, embarrassing or completely avoidable is about to happen. Even without dialogue, viewers immediately understand the setup: a tiny warning siren for chaos, failure and secondhand embarrassment.

This viral sound became widely known through TikTok, where it spread as a standard cue for incoming failure, cringe or bad luck. The audio is commonly associated with “Oh No” by Kreepa, a track built around a sample from “Remember (Walking in the Sand)” by The Shangri-Las. By 2020, it was everywhere in short-form video edits because the melody telegraphs trouble before the punchline arrives. It remains popular because viewers recognize the setup within a second.
