About this sound

The viral “Oh no, oh no, oh no no no” music clip from Capone’s Oh No, used in TikTok and meme edits when a mistake or disaster feels inevitable.

This clip features the familiar high-pitched refrain repeating “oh no” before stretching into a rapid series of noes. Taken from Capone’s song Oh No, the melody creates an immediate sense that something has gone wrong and the outcome cannot be stopped. Its drawn-out setup works especially well over footage of accidents, failed tricks, embarrassing discoveries, and plans beginning to unravel. Because viewers often recognize the refrain within seconds, it can turn an ordinary mishap into a playful moment of suspense before the final failure is revealed.

The clip comes from Oh No, a 2017 song by Capone that samples the refrain from The Shangri-Las’ 1964 recording Remember (Walking in the Sand). Its sped-up, instantly recognizable vocal became widely associated with short-form videos during a major TikTok trend in 2020. Creators paired it with looming accidents, bad decisions, and delayed reveals, turning the repeated lyric into musical foreshadowing. It remains useful because the simple melody communicates dread while keeping the scene humorous rather than genuinely alarming.
