About this sound

The iconic Waluigi wah voice clip from Nintendo's Mario games, used in memes, reaction edits and goofy gaming videos for sudden comic emphasis.

This sound is Waluigi's famous “wah” vocal burst, a short, nasal exclamation associated with the purple Mario rival from Nintendo's Mario spin-off games. The clip is abrupt, cartoony and instantly recognizable, which makes it land well as a punchline or reaction. In edits, it adds a smug, chaotic or mildly annoying energy in less than a second. Because it is so brief, creators often use it to underline a fail, an awkward reveal or a character entrance without interrupting the pacing of the joke.

The Waluigi wah comes from Waluigi, Nintendo's lanky purple rival character who appears mainly in Mario spin-off games. His exaggerated voice clips became a meme online because the delivery is weird, punchy and easy to recognize instantly. Over time, fans clipped the sound into short reaction edits, gaming videos and absurd comedy posts, where it fills a similar role to goofy ahh sounds. It still gets used because the joke lands fast and even non-gamers often recognize the character's vibe.
