About this sound

The classic Noot Noot horn-like catchphrase from Pingu, used in memes, reaction edits and playful clips for a sudden silly punchline.

This sound is the short, unmistakable “Noot noot” catchphrase associated with Pingu. It has a bright, tooting, almost horn-like quality that lands somewhere between a voice clip and a cartoon sound effect, which is why it instantly grabs attention. In edits, it usually works as a goofy interruption, a punchline after an awkward moment, or a quick way to make a scene feel more childish and chaotic. Even though the clip is under a second long, it carries a lot of recognisable meme energy and a very specific playful tone.

Noot Noot comes from Pingu, the clay animated television series about the penguin character of the same name. The phrase became widely recognisable online through short meme clips, remixes, and reaction edits that loop its distinctive delivery. Its staying power comes from how fast and readable it is: viewers instantly get the joke, even without context. The sound is still common in silly reaction posts, nostalgic cartoon memes, and quick comedic cuts where a single absurd noise does all the work.
