About this sound

A short screaming sheep meme clip with a long dramatic bleat. People use it for sudden fails, awkward reveals and over-the-top reaction edits.

This sound is the well-known screaming sheep meme, a brief audio clip of a sheep letting out a loud, stretched, almost human-sounding scream. The cry starts abruptly and peaks fast, which makes it perfect for punchline timing. It feels absurd, dramatic and a little chaotic, so it lands well when something goes wrong or a reaction needs to feel way bigger than the moment itself. Because the clip is only a couple of seconds long, creators often use it as a fast cutaway stinger rather than background audio.

This clip is widely known online as the screaming sheep meme and has circulated for years in short-form edits, compilations and reaction videos. Its popularity comes from how strangely human the bleat sounds and how quickly it turns an ordinary moment into exaggerated chaos. The sound keeps showing up in meme culture because it is instantly readable, short enough for precise timing, and easy to pair with other reaction staples such as a scream meme or a bruh stinger.
