About this sound

The isolated Darth Vader 'Nooo' scream from Star Wars, used in memes and reaction edits for dramatic disappointment, failure or bad news.

This clip is the drawn-out Darth Vader 'Nooo' scream without background music, leaving only the voice for maximum awkward drama. The clean vocal makes the moment feel even more exaggerated, with a heavy, theatrical delivery that lands somewhere between tragic and unintentionally funny. People use it when a plan collapses, a game goes wrong, or someone realizes a terrible mistake a second too late. Because there is no score underneath, it cuts cleanly into memes, skits and reaction videos where the silence around the line makes the emotion hit harder.

This sound is most commonly associated with Darth Vader in Star Wars, and the no-music version spread online because removing the score makes the delivery feel more awkward and meme-ready. Editors have reused it for years in YouTube compilations, reaction memes and short-form videos whenever something goes horribly wrong in an overdramatic way. Its staying power comes from how recognizable the line is and how easily the isolated scream can be dropped into almost any fail, cringe or sudden-disappointment setup.
