About this sound

A loud version of the classic Nokia phone ringtone, used in memes, pranks and edits when you want an instantly recognisable old mobile call sound.

This clip is a louder cut of the classic Nokia ringtone, the short chiming melody heard on millions of mobile phones for years. It has a bright, metallic tone and a simple repeating pattern that instantly reads as an incoming call, even in a busy edit. Because so many people recognise it right away, the sound lands fast in memes, fake phone call skits and nostalgic videos. It can feel funny, intrusive or oddly comforting depending on the scene, which is why creators still use it as a quick audio cue.

The melody most people know as the Nokia ringtone is the Nokia Tune, which became one of the most recognisable mobile sounds in the world during the 1990s and 2000s. It was used across many Nokia handsets and spread through everyday life long before short-form meme culture took off. Online, creators still use loud edits of it because the sound is immediately understood as a phone call, making it useful for pranks, nostalgia posts and quick comedic interruptions in videos.
