About this sound

The classic Mortal Kombat teleport sound effect, a fast whoosh used for sudden vanish or surprise cuts in gaming memes and edit videos.

This clip is the short teleport sound associated with Mortal Kombat, heard when a fighter instantly disappears or reappears. It is a quick, sharp whoosh with a synthetic arcade feel that lands in under a second. Because it is so brief and punchy, it works well for cuts that need to feel sudden, sneaky or overpowered. Viewers instantly read it as a dramatic movement cue, so the sound adds impact to jump transitions, fake-outs and fast reaction edits without taking over the whole scene.

This sound comes from the Mortal Kombat video game series, where teleport moves became a recognizable part of the franchise's fighting style and audio identity. Short movement effects like this stood out in arcade gameplay because they clearly signaled a sudden reposition or attack. Online, the clip spread through game edits, meme compilations and short-form videos because its meaning is easy to understand even without context. It is still used when creators want a fast, clean cue for disappearing, reappearing or snapping between shots.
