It has a sharp arcade feel, with the rushing impact of repeated kicks packed into a very short burst. The sound instantly suggests aggression, speed and over-the-top fighting game action, so it lands well in punchline edits and sudden attack moments. Even people who have not played the game often recognize it as that classic martial arts game sound that means somebody is going all in.

Liu Kang's Bicycle Kick is a signature move from the Mortal Kombat series and is strongly associated with Mortal Kombat II, the 1993 arcade game that helped define the character.
