About this sound

The viral Mariah Carey “It’s time” clip used to announce Christmas season, holiday posts and dramatic reveals across TikTok, Reels and memes.

This short clip features Mariah Carey saying “It’s time” in a playful, dramatic way that instantly signals the start of Christmas season online. The delivery is quick, bright and a little theatrical, so it works like a switch being flipped from normal life into full holiday mode. Creators use it on reveal edits, decoration videos, first-listen posts for Christmas music, and any joke about starting festive behavior too early. Even at just a few seconds long, it gives a post a clear punchline and an instantly recognizable seasonal cue.

This meme comes from Mariah Carey, whose voice and image are closely tied to Christmas because of “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” The “It’s time” clip spread widely through short-form videos and annual “Mariah defrost” jokes, where people mark the unofficial start of the holiday season as soon as Halloween ends or November begins. It remains popular because the line is short, instantly understandable and perfect for quick seasonal reveal edits, much like a buzzer style cue for announcing a change.
