About this sound

A sinister voice line saying “I release you from the blaghole” from the Nightmare/Atmosfear video board game, used for escapes and dramatic comebacks.

This short clip features an ominous voice declaring, “I release you from the blaghole.” Its theatrical delivery and unusual pronunciation give the line a strange, unsettling quality associated with the Nightmare and Atmosfear video board games. The pause and dark vocal tone make the release sound less reassuring than threatening, as though the listener has escaped one danger only to face another. In videos, the clip can turn a rescue, game respawn, unban, or unexpected return into a dramatic horror-comedy moment.

The clip is associated with Nightmare, the horror-themed video board game series also known as Atmosfear in various markets. These games combined tabletop play with prerecorded video segments that interrupted players with commands, penalties, and theatrical threats. The “blaghole” line reflects the series’ exaggerated horror presentation and game-master style. It remains useful online because the wording is unusual, the delivery is menacing, and its meaning fits gaming moments involving release, respawning, restored access, or escape from an imaginary punishment.
