About this sound

This exaggerated disgust phrase became a meme sound for cringe moments and ironic rejection edits. Popular in TikTok clips and internet culture humor reactions.

This sound is a short spoken reaction where a voice blurts out “ugh, eww” with immediate disgust. It has that scrunched-up, recoiling tone people use when they see something gross, cringey or just plain unpleasant. Because the clip is brief and clear, it lands fast in edits and punchlines without needing setup. The effect on a viewer is instant: it signals rejection, discomfort or secondhand embarrassment in a way that feels exaggerated enough for memes but still natural enough to fit everyday reaction posts.

This clip is best known online as a simple disgust reaction sound rather than for a clearly documented single source. It spread through short meme edits, reaction videos and reposted audio snippets where creators needed a quick “that is nasty” response. Its staying power comes from how direct it is: even without context, the delivery instantly communicates revulsion or cringe. That makes it useful across many formats, from image reactions and chat edits to short-form videos where timing matters more than backstory.
