About this sound

A blown-out car horn meme sound with heavy earrape distortion, used in edits, fails and absurd punchlines when creators want a sudden loud interruption.

This clip is a short, aggressively distorted car horn that hits with an overblown, crunchy earrape sound. Instead of sounding realistic or clean, it feels intentionally wrecked and exaggerated, which gives it that chaotic goofy-ahh meme energy. Creators use it as a fast shock sound to interrupt a scene, underline something dumb on screen, or turn a normal moment into an absurd one. Because it is so loud and clipped, it usually lands best as a surprise punchline rather than a background effect.

The exact source of this particular clip is unclear, but it follows the long-running internet style of distorted horn and earrape sounds used for ironic editing. It spread through short meme videos, repost pages, and soundboards where loud, low-fidelity effects became part of absurd humor. The appeal is simple: it turns an ordinary horn into an intentionally obnoxious punchline. It is still used because that sudden clipped blast works instantly in fail edits, goofy reaction posts, and chaotic montage memes, much like the MLG air horn.
