About this sound

A short Gangnam Style meme clip from PSY's 2012 viral hit, used in edits, throwbacks and punchline reveals when a sudden goofy dance moment lands.

This sound is a brief meme-style clip from Gangnam Style, the hugely recognisable K-pop hit by PSY. Even in a few seconds, it carries the song's bouncy beat and instantly familiar energy, so viewers usually get the joke right away. Creators use it to signal chaos, nostalgia or a sudden switch into something proudly silly. It works especially well when a clip needs an exaggerated payoff, a throwback internet reference or a fast musical cue that feels playful rather than dramatic.

Gangnam Style originated as PSY's 2012 single and music video, which became one of the biggest viral songs of the early YouTube era. Its horse-riding dance, catchy chorus and instantly recognisable production helped turn it into a long-running internet reference. Short edits and meme clips based on the track are still used years later because the sound immediately signals over-the-top fun, throwback energy and a very specific kind of online absurdity that audiences still recognise.
