About this sound

The Fortnite Battle Pass sound is Abdul Cisse's viral sung freestyle over the American Boy beat, used in gaming memes, edits, and absurd reactions.

This clip is a short meme song in which Abdul Cisse sings about wanting the Fortnite Battle Pass, then swerves into a crude bodily-function joke and lines about booting up his PC. His casual, slightly breathless delivery follows the smooth American Boy instrumental, creating a deliberately ridiculous contrast between polished pop and chaotic gaming humor. The abrupt lyrics and recognizable opening make the audio land quickly, even before the full joke unfolds. It gives videos a goofy, unserious tone and works especially well when a gaming moment becomes unexpectedly embarrassing.

The audio originated with singer and beatboxer Abdul Cisse, who posted the freestyle on TikTok in 2022 as his response to an open-verse format using the instrumental from Estelle's 2008 song American Boy. Its opening phrase quickly became the clip's shorthand name. Reposts, lip-syncs, animations, and Fortnite-themed edits carried it beyond the original post, while the deliberately juvenile lyrics made it easy to quote and remix. It remains recognizable because it combines a major gaming reference with a familiar pop backing track.
