About this sound

The famous “Issou” clip linked to El Risitas, used in French meme edits, ironic reactions and absurd punchlines online, especially on forum-style humor posts.

This sound is the well-known “Issou” shout associated online with El Risitas. It is a short, sharp vocal moment with a bright, exaggerated delivery that instantly feels silly and chaotic. The clip works because it lands like a sudden punchline: loud enough to interrupt a scene, but playful enough to keep the joke light. In edits, it often signals nonsense, mock celebration or deliberately immature humor. Even without context, the voice has a recognizable meme energy that makes awkward, random or over-the-top moments feel funnier.

This sound is tied to El Risitas, the Spanish comedian Juan Joya Borja, whose laughing TV appearances became a huge meme source online. In French internet culture, “Issou” became especially associated with forum humor and remix edits during the 2010s, where the clipped vocal outburst was reused as a recognizable in-joke. It stayed popular because it is short, instantly identifiable to many French-speaking users, and easy to drop into ironic reactions, low-effort edits and chaotic meme compilations.
