About this sound

The viral “Everybody do the flop” voice clip from asdfmovie is used in memes, fail edits and sudden collapse jokes for a quick absurd punchline.

This sound is the short “Everybody do the flop” quote, delivered in a bright, exaggerated voice and usually followed in people’s minds by a sudden collapse or ragdoll-style fall. The line is brief, punchy and instantly recognizable to longtime meme fans, which makes it perfect for smash-cut humor. It gives a video a deliberately silly, chaotic feel, especially when someone wipes out, faints dramatically or drops to the floor on cue. The joke lands because the command is so cheerful while the implied action is so dumb.

The quote comes from TomSka’s animated comedy series asdfmovie, where its deadpan absurdity helped it become a lasting internet catchphrase in the early 2010s. It spread through YouTube reuploads, meme compilations and short edits, especially in videos built around sudden falls or anti-climactic endings. Even years later, creators still use it because the line is instantly understood and sets up a visual gag in less than three seconds, much like other evergreen meme sounds such as Trololo.
