About this sound

The classic "it was at this moment he knew" meme sound used in fail clips, instant regret edits and videos where someone is clearly about to make a bad choice.

This short meme clip features the dramatic setup line “it was at this moment he knew” followed by the punchline “he f'd up.” It sounds like a serious narrator stepping in right before a disaster, which makes the joke hit harder when the video immediately cuts to a fail, accident or painfully bad decision. Creators use it to underline the exact second someone realizes they made a mistake, especially in sports bloopers, gaming misplays and everyday mishap videos where the outcome is obvious to everyone watching.

This sound became a staple of internet fail edits through compilations, reaction videos and short meme posts. Online, people usually search it as “it was at this moment he knew” or “he f'd up,” and use it to mark the exact beat before an obvious mistake pays off. Its staying power comes from the clear setup-and-payoff structure: the line tells viewers something bad is coming, then the clip delivers the crash, miss or embarrassing outcome immediately after.

It is most often added to fail videos, sports bloopers, gaming mistakes, prank backfires and reaction edits. The sound works best when there is a clear moment where the viewer can tell the person has made the wrong move.
