Kitchen Gun comes from a comedy sketch on The Peter Serafinowicz Show, where Derek Bum advertises a ridiculous cleaning product that literally shoots grime away. The sketch became widely shared online for its fast delivery, fake infomercial style and violent contrast with an everyday kitchen setting. Short clips and remixes helped it spread across meme pages, reaction edits and reposts.
