The clip has the rhythm of a TV commercial, with a deadpan announcer style and sudden explosive impact that makes the joke land instantly. It feels absurd, loud and strangely polished, which is why it works so well in memes. Viewers recognize it as a fake infomercial where everyday kitchen cleaning is treated like an action scene.

Kitchen Gun comes from a comedy sketch on The Peter Serafinowicz Show, where Derek Bum advertises a ridiculous cleaning product that literally shoots grime away. The sketch became widely shared online for its fast delivery, fake infomercial style and violent contrast with an everyday kitchen setting. Short clips and remixes helped it spread across meme pages, reaction edits and reposts. It still gets used because the joke is instantly clear even in a very short clip, especially in exaggerated cleanup or destruction gags.
