About this sound

The "You're up" announcer line from Cuphead, used in memes, streams and edits to start a boss fight, challenge round or sudden turn of attention.

This short clip is the sharp “You’re up” voice line heard in Cuphead, delivered with the game’s old-cartoon announcer style. It has a punchy, upbeat tone that feels like the start of a fight, round or performance. Because it is brief and instantly clear, creators use it to signal that someone is next, spotlight a player, or set up a difficult moment. The sound lands quickly and gives a scene a playful but pressuring nudge, which makes it work well in gaming edits, reaction posts and challenge intros.

This sound comes from Cuphead, the run-and-gun game known for its 1930s cartoon presentation and announcer-style voice clips. Short lines from the game spread online because they are clean, dramatic and easy to drop into edits without much setup. “You’re up” stayed useful because it clearly marks a handoff, a turn or the start of pressure. That makes it a natural fit for gaming compilations, tournament posts, reaction clips and meme edits where someone is suddenly put on the spot.
