About this sound

A short vocal moment from Skrillex's Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, often used right before a beat drop, punchline or sudden chaotic reveal.

This clip captures the quick "yes, oh my god" vocal right before the famous drop in Skrillex's Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. It has that tense, hyped-up feeling of a build reaching its last second, then cutting off just as the energy peaks. Because the phrase is so short and recognizable, it works as a setup sound that tells viewers something big, dumb or dramatic is about to happen. In edits, it adds anticipation first, then makes the next cut feel louder, funnier or more over-the-top.

This sound is taken from the buildup section just before the drop in Skrillex's 2010 track Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. Online, creators clipped the vocal because it works as a perfect warning shot before impact, whether the next moment is a music drop, a visual gag or an absurd fail. It stayed popular in short edits, gaming montages and remix memes because the timing is instantly recognizable and easy to sync to fast cuts. It is often used in the same space as air horn and other exaggerated hype cues.
