About this sound

A short, spooky wicked laugh sound effect with an unknown original source, used to punctuate villain reveals, sinister jokes, and Halloween edits.

This wicked laugh is a brief, spooky burst of laughter that suggests a villain enjoying a devious plan. Its dark, theatrical tone can instantly make an ordinary scene feel sinister, mischievous, or knowingly overdramatic. At just over three seconds, the clip delivers the reaction quickly without interrupting the pace of an edit. It works especially well when a character reveals a trick, something unexpectedly ominous appears, or an innocent moment takes a darkly comic turn. The exaggerated delivery gives viewers an immediate cue that trouble, mischief, or a punchline is coming.

The original recording source, performer, and date for this short laugh are not confirmed. Online, clips like this are commonly used as reaction audio because their meaning is clear without dialogue: someone is acting villainous, plotting mischief, or enjoying another person’s mistake. Its compact length makes it easy to place after a reveal, facial expression, or dark joke. The familiar theatrical quality keeps it useful in Halloween posts, gaming videos, prank edits, and exaggerated character moments where creators need an immediate sinister cue.
