About this sound

A short E-11 blaster rifle sound effect based on the stormtrooper weapon from Star Wars, used for sci-fi shots, battle edits, and reactions.

This compact sound captures a single shot from an E-11-style blaster rifle, the weapon closely associated with Imperial stormtroopers in Star Wars. It delivers a sharp electronic blast with a brief metallic resonance, creating the impression of concentrated energy firing across a futuristic battlefield. Because the clip lasts less than a second, it lands quickly without interrupting dialogue or action. The recognizable sci-fi character can make toy battles, costume videos, gaming edits, and comedic confrontations feel more dramatic, while repeated shots can build a convincing exchange of blaster fire.

The E-11 is a fictional blaster rifle carried by Imperial stormtroopers throughout the Star Wars franchise, beginning with the original 1977 film. Its compact black design became one of the series’ most recognizable weapons. Star Wars sound designer Ben Burtt created the franchise’s signature blaster effects by striking the guy wires of a radio tower, producing their distinctive metallic energy snap. Short clips modeled on that sound later spread through fan films, edits, games, and memes, often alongside a simpler pew-pew sound effect for comic contrast.
